From October 14th to 18th, 2024, members of LaSID participated in the 30th Brazilian Symposium on Multimedia and the Web (WebMedia’24), organized by the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC) and hosted by the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF). Students Pedro Reis Pires and Matheus V. V. Berto presented their respective works titled “Impulsionando a descoberta de tratamentos na medicina através da representação distribuída de palavras” and “Why ignore context? A Guideline for Intrinsic Evaluation of Item Embeddings for Collaborative Filtering”.

Notably, Matheus V. V. Berto’s work received an Honorable Mention in the Undergraduate Research Track competition, highlighting the quality and impact of the research conducted at LaSID.
